The Pedalin’ Pig opened its Banner Elk location in 2014 bringing fresh gourmet flair to some smoky down south favorites. With an entrepreneur at the heart of the business, owner Ethan Anderson set his sights to the smokehouse on Highway 105 last spring. The concept was simple-combine gourmet ingredients with a splash of High Country style. The unique dining area is fit to sit 185 of your closest family, friends and sightseers. We offer cozy inside seating or enjoy the color of the season on our patio —and don’t worry, our parking lot has room for the party.
From fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs to mouth-watering pork belly tacos, the Pedalin’ Pig offers a menu aimed to please. Renowned local chef turned pit-master, Jarad Blackley, prepares homemade sauces and rubs that will make your taste buds squeal. We use seasonal, local ingredients to pair unique flavors like a blackberry bourbon glaze or the sweet and spicy bite of our signature honey chipotle rub. Our BBQ pits are fired up nightly, slow-roasting locally sourced meats over hickory smoked hardwoods.
Not a pit boss? We also peddle dishes for all your vegetarian and gluten-free friends.
Bring your friends or make new ones as our bartenders serve up libations day and night in our fully stocked bar. We offer a wide array of WNC microbrews and regional wines to pair with any plate. Enjoy a crisp pilsner on the patio or cozy in for a glass of wine après-ski. The bar menu offers seasonal and domestic beers in a bottle or try one of our local brews on tap.
The pig pub is the perfect place to unwind after a big day, or turn up for the big game.
